Credit Union Central of Nova Scotia
The role of Credit Union Central of Nova Scotia is to represent and support the credit unions of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador. Through our leadership and the excellence of our people, products and services, we support credit unions in becoming the financial institution of choice.
Founded in 1934, we are committed to providing professional service to our stakeholders, who include credit unions and their employees, our affiliates and their employees, and to each other. This includes financial services to the credit unions of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, as well as trade association and support services in Nova Scotia.
Central’s key financial role is management of the system’s liquidity reserve requirements and provision of central and investment banking services to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador credit unions. Additional trade association services provided to Nova Scotia credit unions include:
- Risk management
- Human resources
- Consulting and support
- Provincial marketing and communications planning
- Legal advice and services
Based in Halifax, Nova Scotia Central accepts the roles of support and leadership defined for us by the credit unions, and with them, support the well being of the credit union system and communities it serves. |
